The measuring tape should sit firmly around the body, butnot too tight. Arm length is measured from the shoulder to the wrist (D).

Generic Bits

Measurements (mm)95105115125135145155165
How to measure:

When measuring the bit size, always measure the length from the inside of one bit ring (or cheekpiece) to the inside of the opposite one. Make sure the bit is straightened. The thickness of the bit is always measured just inside the bit ring. When placed in the horse’s mouth, there should be max. 5mm (¼") play on either side of the bit.

Girths

Country / Size
Measurements (mm)8090100110120130140150
How to Estimate Girth Length

To measure the length of the girth you need, start with placing the saddle pad and saddle on the horse. Using a tape measure, measure the distance from the middle billet hole on one side of the saddle to the same position on the other side. The tape should be placed about one hand’s width behind the horse’s elbow. This measurement equals the size of the girth. As saddles have different sizes and strap lengths, it may be necessary to measure for a new girth if you change your saddle.

To switch between short (dressage) and long girths, add or subtract about 20 inches (51 cm) respectively.

Horse Blankets Rugs

Measurements / Size
BACK LENGTH (cm)758595105115125
BODY LENGTH (cm)123.5134.5143.5153167180
How to measure:

There are 2 ways to measure your horse:

A. Wither to Tail- measuring straight from top of wither to top of tail to find the EU blanket size in

centimeters/inches.

B. Chest to Tail - from the centre of the chest to the furthest rear point of the rump measuring along the side of the horse

Most blankets are sized in three or four inch increments, so choose the closest size available. If your horse is between sizes you are usually better to go up a size than down, unless the horse is narrow chested or petite.
